Is the activity physically strenuous?
Escape rooms require brain power, not physical strength. At most, the activity will involve some squatting down to look or move under an object to get a closer look at something. No climbing or heavy lifting is required.
Will I have to play with strangers?
Once you have booked a room for the number of people you require in your group the room is yours, no other people or can book the same room at the same time.
Will we be given hints during the game?
Yes. Staff will provide your team with hints as needed and/or upon request. In our Code Breaker room, the first three hints you ask for are "free" hints and will cost you no time penalty, however for every hint you ask for after the "free" hints, 1 minute will be deducted from your time. However, these penalties do not apply to all rooms.
What happens if we don’t escape in time?
Escape rooms are challenging, so many players get close, but do not escape in time. At the end of the allotted time, the room will be "unlocked" and the solution explained. All we ask is that you please keep the solutions confidential so you do not spoil the experience for future players.
Do I need a reservation to enjoy an escape room experience?
Yes, a reservation is necessary. Players must book online and pay in full at the time of booking. It is recommend that players book as far in advance as possible to ensure their desired date and time is available. There is a £1.50 booking fee per booking.
Can I cancel or reschedule my reservation?
Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable. However, if you need to reschedule in the event of an emergency, please call at least 48 hours in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you but this cannot be guarenteed.
If you decide to cancel your booking there will be a cancellation fee, which will be taken from the amount refunded to you.
For cancellations within 2 Days of the booking - no refund will be offered
For cancellations between 3 - 7 Days of the booking - 50% fee will be taken.
For cancellations between 8 - 14 Days of the booking - 25% fee will be taken
For cancellations between 15 - 21 Days of the booking - 10% fee will be taken
For cancellations before 22+ days of the booking - No fee will be taken.
Can I bring extra people?
Once you have booked a room for the number of people you require the room is yours and no one else can be added. However if you have booked the incorrect amount of players please call us in advance of your arrival.
What happens if I arrive late?
Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) cautious un-locking we are continuing to ensure all groups who continue to visit us are still kept as Socially Distanced as much as possible, therefore we ask that your "Team" arrives 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time so that you are all ready to enter the game area when asked. In order to avoid disruptions the game will begin at the booked time, once the game has begun, we cannot permit late arrivals into the room. There are no refunds for late arrivals, so please plan accordingly.
How long does each event last?
In addition to the allotted time to play the game itself, players should expect a 5 - 10 minute briefing upon arrival to go over the rules of the game. After the game has ended we will ask all teams to leave the premises as soon as possible, to allow us time to clean before the next team arrive. Take Away refreshments are available to purchase from our on site Daisy's Tea Room.
What should I bring with me?
All you need to bring are your wits. The answers to the clues, riddles and puzzles are all in the room, and players can escape the room using basic logic, deductive reasoning, communication and teamwork skills. Bring your reading glasses if you need them, and of course, if you still wish to wear a face covering please do so.
Can children participate?
Children ages 0 -15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. This Adult will have to pay for their place and will be included in the total numbers of players. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the disclaimer signed by their parent/legal guardian. For further information on participation and suitability please call us.
Are mobile phones permitted in the room?
The use of electronic devices (or any outside tools) is strictly prohibited and you will be immediately removed from the room if you attempt to use them. We have lockers available for any such belongings which you will hold the key to until the game is over.
Are food and drinks allowed in the escape room?
No, food or drinks are allowed in the escape room areas. In addition, it is recommended that alcoholic beverages are not consumed prior to participating in an escape room, as players will need all available brain power. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any players who appear intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
Can I take photographs/videos?
Players are only permitted to take photographs/videos of the exterior of the building, but not within the escape room itself. This policy ensures that the puzzles remain a mystery for all of our future guests.
How can we get to you?
We are situated on the main A26, between Lewes and Uckfield. 1.5 miles North of Lewes. We are easily accessible by car (Plenty of free parking available on site). Follow the Main A26 North from Lewes towards Uckfield, When you get to the Garage at the Barcombe Mills turning slow down and look on the road, at the 2nd "SLOW" sign printed on the road turn left into our drive. We are situated at the top of the drive on the left hand side before you enter the farm gates. We can be reached as well on Brighton and Hove bus routes 29x, 29B and 29 stopping at 'Top of Clay Hill'.
Is the door actually locked?
Our rooms are NOT locked! Players will be metaphorically “locked” in a room, and in order to fully enjoy the game it is recommended that players remain inside the room throughout the allotted time. However, for safety reasons the doors are accessible throughout the game, and players may leave the room if really necessary, but the countdown timer will continue for the rest of the players. Each room will be constantly monitored by CCTV and a dedicated member of our staff to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
What if I or a member of my team has any accessibility requirements
If you or any member of your party has any accessibility requirements such as sight, hearing or mobility you are welcome to play our games
